'Mythopoetics' : Contemporary Genre and Allegory

A new and evolving body of work that takes inspiration from the Northern Renaissance works of genre and allegory. 'Mythopoetics' takes a modern slant on the works of Bruegel and Bosch, integrating them into a contemporary practice that invokes questions about heritage, the malleability of historical narratives, and the re-working, and re-writing of modern day myth. Works in this collection find ties in the deconstruction of surreal, mimetic, and religious symbols, and re-construction of personal relationships.
